Winter Carp On The Fly Fix Video 2

Whether or not it is still Winter in Denver when all of our stillwaters are iced-out is negotiable - BUT there was snow on the ground this morning so I think it still qualifies.  Snow in the morning, carp on the fly in the afternoon!!!!!

  1. Very nice McT! Cool release but I'd be wary of braking the rod tip with that maneuver. Still getting below 0 F here in Mi. Frigging boolsheet man!

    1. I dunno. Mike Medina has done it hundreds of times without breaking his rod. On the bright side, it has always seemed to me that when winter runs long and hard the fish go freaking nutso come spring.

  2. After the storm of the (young) century and melt that is following, here in Missoula, I am even more jealous. Nice work, and great swap you got going!
And I'm remiss in replying, but thanks for the words, I hope my bugs work well for you.

    1. Haven't fished anything but the Chubby Chaser for several months now Spearyhopper. Trying to get it well tested. I will certainly try your flies this spring. Any word from MFC?

  3. Dang nice to see! I believe I've seen that spot before. I wish I had a small accessible carp river, rare, so rare here.

    1. This is actually in a small lake. Totally new water for me. Pretty exciting,

  4. Way to weave your way through the trees and pick your steps amongst the discarded soda containers to find those rubbery mouths.
