The facebook event listing is here:  https://www.facebook.com/events/391478201057564/

Meanwhile, yes I still exist.  I have lost any real urge to write on Fly-Carpin, but I am sure that will change.  And yes, I still fish.  Allot!

Grand Junction Carpocalypse 2014 Tournament

Fly fishing for carp season is entering full swing and fly fishing for carp tournament season is too.  If you live in the area or are up for a road trip be sure and check out Carpocalypse 2014 in Grand Junction.

Now, several of the carp on the fly tournaments popping up across the country support a noble cause.  I like that. I like that allot.  Carpocalypse is no different.  Per Justin at Western Anglers:
"It's just a reason to get fellow carp fisherman together, have fun, win prizes, and drink beer."
Now THAT is a noble cause if I have ever seen one.

Three Rivers Carp Cup - August 17th

The next big fly fishing for carp tournament of the year is coming up soon.  The Three Rivers Carp Cup is August 17th.  Word on the CarpPro forum last year was that this tournament was a blast, I would get in on this if you live in that region of the country!

In their own words:
The 3RCC allows anglers to fish for the elusive carp along some of East Tennessee’s most scenic waterways. The carp may be the most difficult fish to take on a fly and provides real challenges to the fly angler. Last year’s tournament saw 44 anglers from all over the United States chasing carp in support of the Legacy Parks Foundation. The momentum and enthusiasm for the 3 Rivers Carp Cup is building and we expect to have an even larger contention this year with participation from as far away as France.
