One thing I do is count. I m...Good stuff as always. One thing I do is count. I make sure to know the sink speed and count so I know the exact moment my fly has hit the bottom. Add one count to let the fish find your fly and then tighten with a slow lift. If i put the right fly in the right spot I expect an eat so counting and lifting works surprisingly well.
