Whenever I have had a slow cruiser take a suspended fly it was real subtle. Interesting comment about the carp pinning the fly to the bottom. I've only seen this a few times. There was was a pretty pronounced "bump" when this happened, which you note. Then again I've also seen carp take a nymph dropped from a dry fly without disturbing the dry at all, maybe just making it tremble slightly in the film. Crazy stuff. Sometimes absolute experience with the water lets me do this if visibility is poor. With bubbles same, and I know I am OK when the indicator slows on the bottom in a slight breeze only once in a while. I have one small stream and it works, otherwise it's pond water.

GreggGregghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02623587945737239141noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4843098604080162796.post-4357060284425490722014-01-24T10:56:52.360-08:002014-01-24T10:56:52.360-08:00I was thinking of you as I made this Gregg. This works for many of my fish, the majority in fact.

GreggGregghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02623587945737239141noreply@blogger.com
